Allocated to Norwich Thorpe MPD in October 1963 as BR No.61204 and transferred to Departmental Stock on December 7th, 1963. It was used at Norwich Carriage Sidings, Lowestoft Central and Yarmouth Vauxhall Stations and returned to the MPD each Saturday during the winter, rotating between the three locations on a weekly basis during the winter of 1963/64. The locomotive was stored at the MPD during the summer months [being noted as such in April 1964] and carried No.19, painted directly over the former BR number. It was withdrawn in February 1966 and, whilst in store at Norwich Thorpe MPD, was sold for scrap to A King & Sons Ltd of Norwich on May 5th, 1966.

With a rather crudely painted No.19, the loco is viewed, parked in the Goods Yard at Lowestoft. It stabled here, or at the closed Lowestoft MPD, during the day and was moved over to the carriage sidings as required.                          Courtesy of Vince Christie
